Does Black Oxide come in other colors? No, Black Oxide is a natural reaction of the metal with the Black Oxide bath. Although the finishes can vary from shiny to matte finishes depending on the hardness and porosity of the material supplied.   Does the Black Oxide process cause embrittlement in parts? No, there has been no testing to prove this.   Can zinc or chrome plated parts be Black Oxided? No, Black Oxide will not blacken over zinc, chrome, or any other plating finishes. Austin Metal Finishing can strip zinc plated parts to allow the Black Oxide process.      Can parts that have been blackened be replated? Yes, parts can be stripped and the Black Oxide finish can be reapplied.   Does Austin Metal Finishing provide on site Sandblasting? No, Austin only provides Sandblasting services in house.   Can Austin polish and plate bumpers? Yes, Austin can handle any size bumper.   Can Austin refinish car or motorcycle rims? No, Austin is not setup to refinish car or motorcycle rims.
